Most tire designs will have up to eight different numerical or letter symbols recorded on their sidewalls. The numerical symbols tend to denote capacities while the letters often point to design factors. For example, tires with the digits “19” in a certain sequential location denote the diameter of the wheel that it matches. Another example would be the letter “P” in the first position, and in this orientation, it would describe tire design type.
